Century-National Insurance Company is a private disaster coverage insurance company which, under the federal government FEMA division known as National Insurance Flood Program, underwrites the flood policies. Through a government contracting program known as Write Your Own or WYO Century-National Insurance Company is contracted by NFIP to underwrite flood disasters.

(i) What is covered

Century-National Insurance is an expert in the west where it serves its customers in California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, and Arizona. It handles disasters like wildfires and earthquakes. It protects your belongings, homes and businesses under the contract from the National Flood Insurance Program. Customers can insure their homes with flood insurance for up to $250,000 for your building and your contents up to $100,000.

While filing for a claim, contact the Century-National Insurance Company immediately after damage. Make a follow-up with your written claim in order to protect your prompt payment rights. If there are possible damages, photograph them and remember to save any receipts from contractors. Only do emergency repairs until an adjuster inspects the damage. In the case flood conditions make you move out, leave a note including your temporary address and your phone number.

Once they establish your costs of repairs, your adjuster will receive an estimate. In the incidences where you lose your personal properties either due to theft or burglary, immediately file a police report. Century-National Insurance Company send you inventory forms to record information on the losses where your claims will be processed once the contents adjuster receive the forms.

Once there is a full investigation and evaluation of your losses; you will be paid basing on the amount of settlement minus the deductible.

One can buy flood insurance as long as his/her community participates in the national flood insurance policy. A low-cost policy is issued to the homes in the low to moderate risk areas that are just over $100 yearly. You can also buy for up to $60,000 for the contents and $ 250,000 for your buildings. The average flood insurance ranges from $300 yearly for $100,000 coverage. A disaster loan costs around $300 monthly for $ 50,000 over 20 years.

Century-National Insurance Company managed to underwrite events such as the provision of auto physical damage insurance in 1986 to major corporate companies like Nissan Motors and Toyota Motor. It also managed to cover 6.7 earthquake strikes in Northridge and California.
